Shynola Bros Teach You Work Ethic
What is the meaning of you? You are only the sum of your reciprocal movements. Lounge away like a palsy, and you will accomplish bogus things. I still am committed to inking my wrist with a sweet tat that says “MOVE” in some elegant typography, to jostle me out of some real crippled moments. Stay chill in mind, not in body. Drink a hot, strong cup of turbo in the morning. In the videoclip below, Junior Senior enlists Shynola to show you how to “work it”. Do as Junior says and move your feet (and feel united).
Chill In Peace, Airside
I got into the work of Airside through Lemon Jelly, whom I discovered in a sampler hot-glued to the cover of a year 2000 issue of Select Magazine. Remember CD’s and magazines? Remember 2000? What a shit year for me. I followed Lemon Jelly around faithfully, as much as a young adult worshipping a non-touring Brit electronica duo can (via cyberspace and Tower Records). Since LJ and Airside are connected umbilically via Fred Deakin, I was exposed to their early prints, record sleeves, ephemera, whatnots, on the lemonjelly.ky site (miss u). I dreamed of one day importing their huge glow-in-the-dark LJ poster to adorn my dorm room. Their aesthetic choices are filtered to just the essentials. Just a palette of abstracted forms that the mind can absorb easier-ly, while supporting a brash fantasy where humor, beauty and mundanity share the same teeter-totter. <3
